Bilstein group 4 struts
Hi all,
I have recently upgraded my anglia to 15 inch wheels I run escort bilstein group 4 struts. Im suffering from pad knock back, the brake pedal with travel 1 inch when braking, then after going through cicane and a heavy loaded turn the pedal will be more like 2.5 inches at the end of the next straight. I and no problems of this on 13 inch wheel and the smaller brakes. I've spoken to the brake supplier and there suggesting it must be stub axle flex.
Hope for thoughts and any possible solution please, thanks in advance

Re: Bilstein group 4 struts
Check the hub bearings. If they are not seated properly / are the wrong diameter for the struts you get pad knock back.

What setup are you running on the rear?
I went up to 15” in 2021 and that really highlighted padknock

Re: Bilstein group 4 struts
Hi I have the ap rear 4 pot calipers for 15 inch wheels with 290mm disc on a fully floating atlas. I have replaced the wheel bearings in the front made no difference, on a straight road the brake pedal is perfect. The front are 315mm discs with ap 4 pot skeleton calipers.

Re: Bilstein group 4 struts
Well I never……….I’d never heard of that before in all my ageing years
I have AP calipers and the last track day I was getting awful wheel wobble upon braking, checked discs, straight as a dye, so now I might have an answer!
