MSD 6A(L) ignition on a 4x4 Sapphire Cosworth

Hi! I own a Ford Sierra/Sapphire Cosworth 4x4 with L8 ECU, I also have an MSD 6AL ignition and I 'd like from you if its possible to send me the correct connection diagram for my car because I cannot understand what to do with my old ignition module (original Cosworh) and the connection of Crankshaft trigger.

Are you trying to use this instead of the engine ecu or something ?

Lots of diagrams here...but I'd have to question why ?

I want to use it with L8 ECU, I want to have better spark than Group A coil, I do not want to fit wasted spark.

Seems an antiquated solution when better, more modern & reliable systems are available ie, lose the dizzy, add a crank trigger wheel and sensor together with a nodiz ignition and some COP's and you've got a fully mapable ignition with excellent spark potential for not a lot of coin! And there is NOTHING wrong with wasted spark!

Tested the MSD6AL system years ago on the dyno, there was maybe 0.5 bhp difference compared to a normal electronic ignition system. Also, with a capacitive discharge system if the (first) spark doesn't ignite the mixture that's it. On an inductive system the charge energy in the coil gives another spark.

If you insist you must use this old system

    Page 10/26 would seem appropriate.

Is the engine at a level where spark with even just a simple coil upgrade is even a problem ?

If you have a non start scenario, then you need to determine what it is lacking to start ?

What have you tested ? Does it have fuel ? spark ? air ? etc etc

Maybe investigate heat soaking if it occurs when you say?

The problem is with ignition, it makes a funny noise and the engine doesnt start

That's not an overly technical description or answer to my question.

It's more like the answer a 12 year old would give.

Exactly what ignition setup do you have now ?
