4link bar settings
Hi
I have a clubman 4 link & watts link in my escort. I use the car for club motorsport, primarily on dirt. The car also has coilovers, from memory springs are as long as I could get and 190 or 200lb fr, rears are long and minimum to keep car off bump stops during an event ( possibly 130ish )
As car currently sits, rear height is 150mm from chassis rail (near old rear leaf spring eye) to ground and 145mm at front rail to ground. The 4 link bars are parallel (top bar in centre hole) with 25 mm up angle to front and equal length. I added 4 link many years ago and have never changed bar positons.
I've been down the worm hole of you-tube and www which refers a lot to speedway, tarmac and speedway setups. All these setups have a lot more adjustability than the 3 holes of the clubman top bar and limited bar length adjustment I have. Their adjustments of these more complex systems seem to vary depending on the motorsport discipline and track surfaces.
I'm curious to hear from other 4 link escort owners, what are the expected changes when moving top link bar between the 3 positions for dirt tracks (and tarmac if different) ?
What baseline chassis height numbers, or 4 link lower bar angle do you typically target for dirt and tarmac setups ?

Re: 4link bar settings
As a start I always suggest setting the bottom link parallel to road and the top link pointing down slightly at the front.

Re: 4link bar settings
thanks,
i'll have a play and lower the rear ride height which should effectively level the 4 link lower bar and drop top to bottom hole.
May make it a bit low though for a rough track. I'm thinking I'm lower now than when I was on leafs, but lost my gaurd lip reference measurement I was using before I added the xpac kit
