Weber 38 DGAS or Solex 38 EEIT for Cologne V6 Turbo?
I’m planning a low-pressure (6-8psi) turbo installation on my mongrel TVR Tasmin. It’s got a carburettored 2.8 Cologne from a Mk2 Granada in it with allegedly about 130bhp. My plan is Saab 9-3 Garret GT1752 with a Saab intercooler blowing through a carb. I have these parts as I used to have a Saab.
I’ve also got an advance/retard vacuum unit to put on the distributor (like the Turbo Technics conversion) and I’m planning to use a rising rate fuel pressure regulator fed by a high pressure injection pump.
I have the choice of a 38/38 Weber DGAS or a 38/38 Solex EEIT. I’m not sure what to use as presumably both will require modification to provide enrichment on boost.
Does anyone have experience of either of both carbs in a turbo situation? If so what’s best to use and what modifications are required?
Here's my car.
