Princess callipers for Aus struts?
Hi All,
I am considering some reproduction princess callipers off ebay.
This seller has them with internal fluid passages and also in alloy. The alloy ones look to be the same pattern so might not be rigid enough.

Ford Escort 1968-1976
Ford Capri 1974-1987
Triumph TR8 1980-1981
Can anyone advise if they are suitable for Australian mk2 2L struts?
Also any info on locally available discs that can be modified to suit if anyone has done this?
I am hoping to use Ø257 disc under 13" steels.
Cheers

Re: Princess callipers for Aus struts?
I'm not sure what the difference is if any between UK Mk2 struts and Australian spec struts. But the calipers look good and I can't see why they wouldn't be rigid enough. I'm pretty sure the original Princess 4 pots were an AP design, so based on that alone, they should be fine. The weight saving looks to be massive too, as the originals were very heavy. Though why they wouldn't fit later MK2's from 76 onwards I'm a bit mythed at tbh.

From memory the standard Mk2 struts had a different size and thread calliper bolts to the Capri strut which the Bilstein competition strut was based on, I think the standard Escort being metric and Capri imperial.
