I'm changing the fuel pump on my son-in-law's ST170-powered Sierra.

It's on bike carbs and currently runs a cheap electric bike fuel pump mounted on the inner wing next to the carbs.

I'm changing it for an old Mitsuba pump I have. My plan is to leave the pump exactly where the old one is. The Mitsuba has a built-in filter.

Ideally, I know it should be mounted dead upright but will it be okay mounted at an angle following the inner wing, or does it definitely need to be dead upright because it incorporates a filter?

I'm just trying to limit the amount of work in fitting it, I'm going to run an in-line pressure regulator as well, just to reduce the pressure from the pumps 4psi output down to about 1.5psi for the bike carbs.

Any info/advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Rob
