    Rs2000 nose cone metalwork

Has any of you guys bought the RS nosecone metalwork from MST? Mine is a little bent and rusty

The photo on their page doe not show the upper bracket and when I called, the guy did not sound 100% when he said its what was in the picture although the advert says all brackets needed to fit the nose

I've seen a post from a guy who said he had a spare top bracket after buying from them which leads me to believe it does come with it but that guy has not been here on for some time

So can any of you confirm if the top bracket is supplied in the MST kit please.

Graham, It does not include the top bracket !!! Why not who knows, maybe because it’s a fairly difficult part to re manufacture ?
Getting hold of a top bracket is extremely difficult. I’d suggest unless your one is like a collider with rust holes, clean it up and get it zinc plated. On the odd occasion they come up you’ll be looking at £60+
Since 2017 I’ve only seen 3 available one of those was up for £120 and they are still 40 years old.
In the set you get the 2 side brackets, the bumper with the joiner and the bottom nose cone to front panel bracket. I can’t remember if the bumper irons are included or separate
If what you have is just rusty again I’d clean it up and get it power coated. It will probably be money better spent.

Thanks for your answers, I'll take my top bracket off and have a better look, from what I can see now it does look to be re-usable if I straighten a couple of the tabs that fix it to the slam panel.

The rest does need replacing the bottom bracket is only 300mm long now

I believe you can buy the brackets separately if you don’t need all of them

stage1 do most of the brackets separate and I think Gs escorts but I was told that both have no stock, still no top bracket

Graham how bad is the top bracket you have ? It’s definitely worth trying to repair if it’s particularly bad
With the other brackets they do come up second hand regularly as individual or sets. Worth a daily trawl through the usual places. Might even be worth looking at people selling nose cones, they normally have the top bracket and if the cone is in good order you can move it on later. That may work out cheaper that buying new re manufactured brackets??
