2.0 cam question
I've just put 2.0 cams into my 1.8. My brother (Ford trained mechanic) has asked me to double check that there are no further adjustments/mods necessary? As the slightly higher lift gives very little tolerance between valve and piston. Something was fractionally off line when we put it all back together and it locked up, a very slight adjustment to one of the cams and everything now turns freely as it should. He explained that they run very small tolerances but was concerned just how close everything was with these cams in.
Any re-assurance gratefully received - plus I can go ahead and get the motor in on friday!

Re: 2.0 cam question
I use this setup for my 1.8 Silver Top Zetec and installed cams using the Workshop manual instructions, nothing special done. Not had any problems either

Re: 2.0 cam question
Great, thanks for the reply. Did you notice the extra power? Any better or worse on fuel ect?

Re: 2.0 cam question
No experience to report as it was a first time install of both engine and cams into my car. Runs great using ESC ignition.
Bought the engine cheap in bits from an abandoned Escort project, did a cylinder hone, lapped the valves in, added new rings, shells, ARP conrod bolts and the 2 litre cams.
