I'm not so bothered about the fuel efficiency side of as i dont do enough miles to bother about it but stopping in the wet and tyre noise levels could be useful when buying tyres for my everyday car.

i dont think any car i've owned has ever been quiet enough for me to hear the tyres, all off my cars rattle squeak or are generally noisey in one way , but i hate these fuel efficient tyres, just seems a stupid idea to me, in order to make it more fuel efficient you need to reduce the drag/friction, so in other words you fitting shitty grippless tyres to your car, they should be banned imo.
