    Hello gents - new mk2 esc/rwd starlet member

    Hi folks,
    I’ve been browsing here a while so I said I better say hello!
    I found this forum by chance while researching things for my escort and have to say there is a great variety of retro cars, the name is a bit misleading - I thought it was a cossie forum! I’ve been looking through other people’s cars/ projects and there are some great threads on here.
    Anyway im currently building a 4 door MK2 as a bit of a do it all car, it will be a road car/endurance rally/multivenue autotest/track day/sprint pretty much anything I can get it into!
    It’s a 78 1600 ghia, 68k miles, no rot or rust.
    It has a black ghia interior which is in incredible condition, like brand new, rs 4 spoke wheels, round lamp setup, mexico front spoiler etc for it.

    the plan;
    il leave the xflow standard for the moment bar I have a kent cam, bike carbs, and a proper exhaust for it. a nicely ported head will go on when i come across one cheap 2nd hand.
    all the horrible work is done, so now the enjoyable part of fitting up is underway
    the theme is simple black and white, so ive black bumpers, satin black badges, black handles, black door frames and pillars, and some nice satin black RS 4 spokes. and the black interior. Im currently looking for a set of 7x13 wellers, if anyone has any please let me know!
    i stuck the chrome bumpers on for the pics, but they will be powder coated black.

    I also have a rwd Toyota starlet, may be of some interest here. I have this nearly 9 years, ad have built and rebuilt it many many times. I use it for trackdays, and general driving about when the weather is good.
    It’s a 1.3 currently around 125bhp@8500rpm, revs to 9  2-way lsd, etc, I can post the spec if people are interested.

    And finally, when im not in the mood for noise and petrol fumes, I have this, low mileage M3 which ive just fully refurbished also.

    Thanks for looking, great site!
