X flow dipstick length- Help! (Mk1 Mexico)

Can anyone tell me the length of a dipstick for a Mk1 Mex? I need to know the length of the stick where it sits from the top of the tube.

I've just measured mine (oo-er) and it's exactly 48cm from the bottom of the stick to the top of the ferrule where it sits in the top of the tube.

Cam7, are you sure that is the dimension you need ?. The stick doesn't bottom out on the top ferrule, it hits the the top of the tube that is pushed into the block to set the level of oil in the sump. Then you cut the rubber tube to the correct length so that the top ferrule just touches top ferrule. If you have a big wing sump, and the correct tube in the block, I can happily measure my Mex for you.

What is the length of the dipstick tube for engine fitted with a big wing sump. is the oil capacity 3.7 ltrs or 3.9 ltrs ?
