Quick update, very happy with the rx8 box so far, ratios feel good and the change is nice and slick. Got a good test for it on the weekend - Spring performance action day at Castle Combe. I've also put an entry in for the Bob Shaw memorial rally at talbenny the weekend after.
When I changed the box I fitted a new ally two piece flywheel, however, after a few runs over the local mountains to test the new box, one of the bolts on steel plate tried to make a break for it and ruined my clutch in the process. I had the clutch re lined and put it back together today ready for the weekend.

What was it ?
Just had a watch and a read of the comments, apparently half shaft snapped folding the wheel?
R u running an atlas ? Half shaft plates holding them in let go maybe ?
The blue escort is running some wide tyres n slicks? Yr Hav him next time 😁
As you can tell with my lack of updates I lost interest in this car after the the half shaft incident at castle come, the arrival of a new focus RS road car didn't help the situation as it made the escort feel very sluggish.
I slowly got the car repaired with any spare time I had over the summer, it pulled out pretty well;
I finally got it back out for a motorkhana down pembrey, but I really struggled having not driven it for so long, ended up midway in the results.
So next was an event I enjoy, the Jaffa xmas stages at pembrey. I very nearly pulled the entry the night before as I was so ill but I persevered and made it to the start. Had a poor first stage feeling pretty sick, the adrenaline started to sort me out and by stage 3 pace felt pretty good.
As I was feeling ill, my nav had a weak shoulder from a past operation and no service crew, we didn't touch the car all day, even when the rear tyres were dead we carried on an ran them.
We were pleantly surprised to find our selves 27th and 3rd in class. Overall we had a good day and I got some love back for the car, but I was still craving some power.
Toyed with the idea of building a high spec redtop, but I was already struggling for time to work on the car so I made the decision to sell it.
It wasn't for sale for long, and regreatably it went to its new owner within a couple of days, very sad to see it go.
My dad fancied another rally car so next plan was to buy something together so we could share costs, maintenance etc...
I wanted to have a few months car free, but a car came up we both really liked and we are picking it up tomorrow, will add some pics soon
