After being interested in old escorts for a long time i finally bought a mk2 a few weeks ago. I previously owned a 106 rallye which i used on night events for the past few years but the temptation of RWD finally got the better of me. I remember seeing this car advertised about a year ago on here but i wasn't in a situation to buy, but when it came back up again i went for it. It looks like its been a little unloved by the last owner but is very solid overall, just needs a tidy up. Here are a few pics from when i picked it up -

The drive home uncovered some problems which included a midrange splutter and a very tight bucket seat. the seat was easily sorted with a corbeau pro2000 from peter lloyd and the car was then booked into mosley's for a tweak on the map to sort the splutter. Unfortunately the car blew the headgasket on the rollers so i've spent the past week repairing the head gasket and giving the bay and wing a freshen up with some rattle cans.
And my final little niggle to sort was the addition of a group 4 throttle pedal as the standard unit had little travel with the brake cylinders in the way and the pedal sat very high. Its now booked back into moselys next week to finish of the mapping, hopefully thing will go better this time.
