No we have done what we need for now the rest is for them to do :-)
Looking good paul, be a big step forward once the cage is complete
Once the cage is done it starts getting expensive again
what now!!!
We'll small update the car has now gone off to Custom Cages to have the cage fitted estimated time for return is 1 to 2 weeks then it will be back to business as usual that will be the turning point of the build I think
thank feck for that need to see it on the stages soon!!!
Yes yes don't go on lol
another amazing build on here, makes great reading, looking at the pics (more looking at pics than reading )
Should look a bit different when it comes back from custom cages
and the picture is where!!!!!
Yes yes I might be there Sunday night to take some
get to retro race in coventry!!!! today!!!
So the project has had a little time away from the workshop as has come back with some extra bits of metal shoe horned in the old girl
Thank to the guys at Custom cages we think we have got to a milestone with the project now still endless to do
We had to get the scotchbrite out to remove some of the surface rust from the welding before we put some etch primer in to help it stay that way a bit longer
All caught up now from day one - lovely job
Out for a drive on a sunny spring day reminds me why I got this car
Noticed you've not fitted the dash bar! is this for the fitting of electric power steering ?
only after fitting my cage i then realised the RIX power steering kit would not fit because the bar was in the way
so i had to then remove it, after i had painted the inside. Not happy.
No custom cages left that off for us to fit as they weren't sure what we were doing with the steering column once we have finished arguing over the power steering we will fit it LOL
have you tried a pedal box in it with the tunnel fitted?
It should be fine "fingers crossed"
just looks close where the steering goes through the floor!
may need a floor mounted box!
Can you put some pics up
Of how you did the sill tubes?
Hexham and District Motorclub
Yep ill put some up for you the rears are going to be a challenge to fit
Cheers Andy's
Slowly but surely
Done some more on the sill stands tonight to be fair on Rob it's bloody hard work trying to get in behind the roll cage to weld them up but they are not going to fall out, we will be using a small amount of filler for all the imperfections of the new sill and where the panels join together but we have a good friend Andy that likes the idea of rub on rub off and nothing a bit of two pack won't cover
A bit of blue silicon hose to help stop the stands taking the paint off the sill later
