Just joined the site after finding excellent information while trawling the web here in Australia.
I have three MKII escorts, one four door a daily drive to work, another four door in the 'nearly there' stage and a two door shell that is the 'on going' project.
I also have caught the bug for racing the Escort and have taken part in a few track days this year, always improving the car each time. The suspension and brakes being the project and the moment.
My next stage for the track is do I fit a Nissan engine (easy to buy down here) or try and stay Ford and go the turbo Pinto route, let me know what you think?
Here at the moment I think the Cosworth or Zetec route is too expensive for what you get.
One advantage we do have here is the weather, but it doesn't make up for the fact on how expensive everything is to buy out of the UK, or how hard it is to get hold of stuff ford the Escort.
