Evening fello petrol heads from not so sunny suffolk

Dan here on my first step back into my passsion of building my dreams.
41 from suffolk and after 7 years of real bad illness got my first project on the go.
had it 4 weeks now and thanks to turbosport threads started the ground up restoration

i have a past in racing fords back in 1993-2001 vecta championship ,performance ford /max power ,thundersallons.
i bought for a good reason a 1971 mk1 escort estate which i will be using for my photography equiptment..retire the avant.
being disabled has its challenges but reading the threads found them so helpfull, got me underway sooner than later.

not 100% sure on my finished aim but getting the rott out is first line of attack

after reading way to many threads still stuck on direction drive train wise..so rear axle wise stuck a little as i know nowt about
    what fits best.
    anyway anyone near brandon suffolk
    cheers Dan

    welcome to ts.

first you gotta decide what the cars going to be used for i.e is it supposed to be a daily, or you planning on doing a few trackdays or perhaps dragstrip action, secondly as to whether your looking at bolt in engine/transmisiion options, thridly how much power you after, once you know those the back axle choice becomes simple.

i have so much work to do on the car i can leave the rear for a while but dont think i want power as i run an e39 m5 as my toy,the audi avant is quattro
so got winter covered as far as my photography,i have an indoor commercial drive in studio so winters usually inside n local,
hopefully itll just be a daily summer car ,almost convinced myself on that..so might leave it oem style just strengthen it with some creature comforts inside.
