Zetec ignition
what sort of ignition advance do you run?

Re: Zetec ignition
hi
bit of a broad question as there are so many varying factors that contribute towards it.
engine load, compression, camshaft, induction type, bore size, fuel type to name just a few.
you need to find maximum torque for minimum timing, for this it must ideally be optimised on a rolling road or engine dyno.

Re: Zetec ignition
I know, we have got a dyno at home.
I am running around 11.5:1 zetec 98 pump fuel, st170 inlet with bike ITBs.
Just wondering how many advance people run with same sort of setup under full load/WOT
edit : and some fast road cams

Re: Zetec ignition
if you have a dyno then you should be able to find these figures with testing, use a knock sensor of some description and add timing until you start to get knock, then back off timing with a safety margin built in.
