whats the procedure for painting a f/g panel ? its not new and gelcoated of course.

Flat back with 400 wet, etch or epoxy prime, guide coat, flat back 800 wet and apply your chosen top coat.

Hi Mike,
Agree with the above apart from the etch, only supposed to put etch on bare metal, if you have any little spider cracks etc the etch will work into it!

Thx James, I have seen Etch recomended on other posts / sites , will 2k primer hold to fg ok then ?

2k primer is fine onto fg. if it's a new panel, make sure you get all the release agent off with panel wipe

yes thats a good point, i guess it cant do any harm ?
does it go in both primer and top coat ?

Yeah I use plastic primer then 2k top coat
