    Type 9 Gearbox oil seals

    hi.

Just bought a set of gearbox oil seal for my type 9 gearbox. (Front, Back, and speedo oil seals.) and went to have a look and was wondering if anyone can tell me how the oil seals come out?? they seem pretty tough. anyone got any tips? didn't want to start prying it with a screwdriver or pulling stuff in case i damage the casing or something.

    thanks

can you get hold of a sierra/ capri haynes manual? my capri 3.0/2.8 manual gives a fair bit of detail about the type 9 but i don't have access to it at the moment as its with my mate as he's repairing mine

A seal puller would be the best tool to use, they're cheap enough to buy. Having said that a hammer and a screwdriver (used carefully) have never failed me!
