    Thanks a ton for posting those pictures - really appreciate them. Have heard about these turrets in early shells, but these are the first photos I've ever seen. Where did you get the info to fabricate them? Awesome car, will be keeping an eye on this thread

    hi mate,comb up the thread a bit and you can see stage 1 making them up, contact trev i,am sure he would post them to you or stage coach as he lives in cornwall .

    You're right about your bro with bodywork - good choice Mark! I like this and the wide steels - good move!

    Is it definite that you're fitting the Twincam? Did you find a good head or are you buying new?

    hi mate, looks like the BRM head may be ok after all so going with the original spec, thats unless i change my mind of course. the car came out better than i wished for, best dig me flares out to go with it.

    Nice work on the car Fridgeman, Just out of interest what was Larklands rates like for welding if you dont mind me asking? Ive got a mk1 escort and needs a fair amount doing and their pretty local to me so would be ideal.

    its my brother and his rates are fair but not quite mates rates as he has business to run ,but on the upside you get a insurance approved repair ISO 9001 with all the paperwork that goes with it.plus old pete used to be the bodywork guy at hooleys the RS dealers. pm me for pauls mobile if you want.

    cheers tim , its a rare sort of thing to be sure, based on a FVA block which are uber rare, long stroke and all steel, bags of low down torque.should make the old twin cam not quite so boring to drive.

    cheers guys, if i can fly past some of those AVO lot going to the shows in there showroom twin cams i,ll be happy get over paying for the engine then its get a gearbox,so if anyone has a nice spec type 9 for sale next month please let me know. alloy case a preferance.

    Is it built by Connaught or Novamotor?

    Is it 86.5mm bore as that's what the FVA's used to run at?
