Got a clear sight of the rear end, after the dolly was finished and I could turn the car around and away from the wall.

Must say I think it looks nice, and it will be easy r to fabricate the diffuser now and take it outside for some moulds to be made.

    The final goal

    Hi Matt

Not much going on here lately. Been working on a mk1 for a friend lately. By the way Your car is locking good, you are near the finish line now days 😀👍🏻

Some pic of the mk1. Rebuilt the 4 link for low car, And sat it up fore anti squat

Started on restoration on a wing blade from a old replica. The blade is 40 years old and need a Lott of work.

And paralel with the wing restoration I am doing the final test fitting in the engine bay

And a little bonus 😀😀 missed my old G3 replica, so suddenly in the garage I had a new built Rallycross Escort.

My priorities are still on the mk2..

Thanks Matt, the strutbrace is made of std gr4 struts, by the way.

    Did some little things today.

To prevent the hood to lift in high speed, since it's made of lighter material, I made an little air dam for it, like Zakspeed did.

And planed the route for the dry sump. Had to be creative since there's not good space and it's a bit custom. The feed is level, and that's the important thing. The return is pretty level too. 👍🏻 return on the bottom , dry sump tank will be on the right hand side in the car (I am sitting on the left hand side)

And finally Ringspeed ( my engine builder) dropped by whith some wheels to test.

    Ringspeed s BDT Anglia here

That's it fore now, full focus on the restoration of the rear wing the next period.

    Not much happening here Matt.

Did receive the last parts for my wheels last week.

And did go for some aluminum vents after some checking. (Devils in the details)

    Steel

    Alu

And made plugs for the moulds to the doors. My aim is under 5 kg when finished ( front and back will be glued together when finished in carbon)

    Some more test mounting

And a friend are making some new parts
For the suspension, brakes and alternator

One day it will be finished 👍

Amazing stuff as always. What racing regs (Class) are you building this for?

    Keep up the great work!

    Thanks Matt.

There’s a couple of classes it can be used in here in Norway.
    Gt series
    Extreme
    Time attack
    Hill climb

    Sweden’s SSK series
    Finland’s Special Saloon

At the moment it depends mostly for me what the final weight turns out to be when it is finished.

What class will you drive? And what is the weight on your car race ready? ( whit out driver)

Re: From Rallycross car to GT4 Racing Escort RWD "G3"

    Hey Mate,

It hasn't been weighed yet but I would expect it to be around the 850 - 900kgs mark although i don't weigh that much either! I'm built for speed and not comfort. Lol

The car will be log booked as a sport sedan but I'll mainly just be doing sprint days with the odd motorkhana and maybe a Targa type event in the future.

    Cheers,

    Matt
