    Time fore a little update.

Some of the body panels are done, made in carbon aramid. This part is only 2,4 kg.

    Some gear box mounts

Made a singel screen wiper, saved almost 2 kg here, compared to the old system.

    Used a little boat motor

Made som brackets fore stufs in the engine department

    Some new head ligths

    Mounts fore the radiator

    Tried out some wheels

The fuel tank is nearby finnished

    Got the steering fixed finaly

delivered the last engine parts fore rebuild

    And finally got an autograp

The car is coming along now, and i can soon start planing fore painting...

Re: From Rallycross car to GT4 Racing Escort RWD "G3"

Thanks, miss the G3 my self, but i hope this one will be bether in some ways.

Not much have been hapening, but here are some picks.

Made place fore the brakefuid "things" there will be enough place fore two of theese and one slim tal fore the cluch.

Also made a strut bar. Idealy i wanted them to conecth to the cages a post, but it was not doable since the carburaturs is in the way, and the engine is where it is and the fire wall. But this is beter than nothing and should controll the forces good i think.

Also more panels done by a friend of mine, total weigth before tuning the the edges was 7,5kg total. A nigth mare to fit.

At the moment i looking on how these uprigts will fit up front. They will give me a beter tunability up front, and be able to run wide wheels whitout runing wheels whith stupid offset. And bether bearings. Will make as much of the ad on parts in alu, and keep the weigth down. I think it wil be ligther than the Grp 4 struts in the end, i hope.

Thats it fore now, hope you like my plans

But i have serius problems whit my photo bucket, so its a nigth mare to upload pictures. Any good idea to sort this out?

I wil soon have 5 weeks of work, so then it will be alot of quality time in the garage

    A little update.

    Some ducting fore the cooling

I will make a mould of this hood when it's done an make it in a lighter material.

Some wheels got some attention. These are the front rims.

Tried these on one side of the car

    Rear wheels, not ready yet

Some pictures of the new bearing holder in the GRP A upright

That's it fore now, hope you like it.

From Rallycross car to GT4 Racing Escort RWD "G3"

Glad you liked it, thanks folks 👍🏻

Did continue on the hood today. It's a bit wider than the turbo Zakspeed, but it fits my cooling package.

Also been working on the rear wing. Was lucky to borrow some moulds from Germany. So I could make my own.
They are just for aerodynamic and lock. There will be a honeycomb plate inside to fit the rear spoiler blade to in the end.

Some adjustment was needed to get them to fit flush to the rear arches. In the rigth angle compared to old fotos.

Also started on a new smaller rear axel so I can fit wider rear tyres.

This one is 10cm smaller than the one on the car now, so I hope my calculations are correct 😳

Will find out during this week.

Not much going on here. Been helping out on some other cars.

Did fit the new smaller rear axel. So now it's place fore the 13,5" rear s. But not much place fore the coil over. Only 1 cm clearance. Will fix that soon. Also made bether breathing fore the axel at the same time.

The black axel is 10cm wider than the grey. The black is 10" wheels

    .

Made a new dash, near 3 kg lighter than the empty original. Will floke it to prevent glans.

And got 3D printed the rest of the dash

The new rear spoiler is finished, saved a lot on this one. This is only 2,5 kg

Also made mounts and plate fore the pedal box

    That's it fore now.
By the way the engine did kill it self on in the dyno, so it's delayed. Because of a dry sump pump failure. Quite frustrating.

At the moment it is full focus on the front suspension. Have figured out most of the angles, bump stear, scrubradius and Ackerman so son all the mock up parts can get a rest and the real parts be finished. Locking forward to that 👍🏻

This part control both Ackerman and also play a role in scrubradius

    Mock up

Have also made some plugs fore the mould to the side skirts. Just some sanding and paint on them and the rear fenders before the mould is made.

    Getting closer and closer 👍🏻

Totaly understand the time it takes to calculate and design a solution...that keeps scrub/bump and rollcentre....it is not easy to get everything dead on...but it is possible,...big thumbs up...always love your build thread...cheers mark

Not easy to get it dead on as you say, and as I know your experience on your car, takes time and a lot of head scratching. But feels like victory every time a solution works 👍🏻

Hi...I notice we are going same route on radiator...i am thinking of ducting behind the rad aswell .to direct the hot air out the bonnet vent and not in the engine bay....i notice you have a lot of room behind the rad-engine...any plans...cheers mark

    Hi Mark

Yes i will have some ducting from the rear of the radiator as well. Haven't quite decided on if I will attach it to the car or the hood yet. Have made a plug fore the mould to the hood all ready, so will see first how to make the ducting when the new hood is ready 👍🏻

Thinking it would be nice to mount the ducting to the hood, because of easy access to the front of the engine between the races.

    The plugg

The space between the rad and the strut brackets.

Any ideas how to do it, would I be greatful fore Mark, or your plans

Your car is really coming together these days 🏁

Here are some pic of the work lately.

Been working on the front suspension

    New front turrets

    Some primer

Made the Grp A suspension 4,3 kg lighter, by removing some steel and making some stearing arms in Alu

Some random parts / shims made fore the suspension and steel treated

Plans for and changes to the dry sump are started

Started yesterday on making a Dooley for the car as I need to take it outside to make the last moulds. And fore transport to my painter

Hope you like it, not a big progress but one little step in the right direction..
