Glad you are still hanging in there Graham.
Difficult times all round I know.

I'm glad I'm not self employed anymore, you're a brave man.

Eventually I'd like to have you build me a Pinto cylinder head and cam at least, if not a full engine rebuild.

I like to think I could at least just about build a bottom end myself though, but I just can't really seem to get
my head round the whole valve/rocker geometry thing.

Is this your 6th year? There's nothing better than being your own boss. Glad to hear you're in profits. Hope COVID doesn't bring any more dramas.

yes, we are in our 6th trading year, i cant imagine working for anyone else now, although i have to say whilst in many respects being the boss is good, working 100 odd hour weeks, never taking a day off, never actually switching off from work, all for less money than i pay some of my staff does somewhat take the shine off! some days i think i should take up herding cats, that would be a walk in the park compared to what i do..

    thanks,

re the head, people over complicate it, use standard length valves, standard length ball studs, cut seats a little as possible and you will be ok, i always do a lift check and usually get a bit more lift than is advertised for the cam, if you have about the right valve lift figure the geometry will be ok, but finally and too be sure I blue a rocker and check the wiped area, unlike some will tell you it, doesnt need to be dead central, just make sure its not gone off the pad at the adjuster end and it will work just fine
