Not everybody used cellulose years ago at all...spraying SMALL amounts with a mask specified for 2k is not going to kill you like I said if you use it REGULARLY then you should use an air fed mask....
Plenty have painted one car with disposable 2k mask and oddly enough lived to tell the tale
Mind if you are the forum argumentative twat because a few guys took the piss cos you lost your escort like a girl on "cold tyres" then I guess this will clutter John's thread up for years to come lol
No you bipping up in the back round constantly like that donkey off the shrek films gets you called an argumentative twat lol
I and others have said doing small amounts will not kill you which is fact and your not happy unless your bipping back all the time which seams par for the course with you tbh...
I will not reply any further now not to fill up John's thread with it.....
Que shreks donkey.....
I sprayed a lorry with 2k, no mask and it hasnt killed me ye
Must be a myth then lol
I haven't like I said mines boxed in under my bench with vents in the outside wall to take air in. ..
I have seen many compressors in the corner that's why I said that...
The other reason many diy guys don't use air fed is most compressors that will run of household 3 pin plug won't kick out enough air to run the mask and to paint...Mines a 3hp v twin and from memory it's output is 17/18 cfm that would be cutting in and out like hell doing both and as my garage is at the top of the garden about 100ft from the house that trips the electric from time to time..
That's why I used 2k compatible disposable mask painting a few panels at a time not too bad if you soak the floor first paper suit and minimal time in there
I wouldn't paint the stuff regularly without one though

It's the receiver size that dictates how often it kicks in....I have an 18cfm compressor with a 100l tank and it's NLT too bad when using an HVLP gun, a decent spray gun makes a big diff, most cheapo guns put more paint in the air than on a panel, I bought a 2nd hand gravity fed Devilibiss gun for £50 and it need very low pressure.
Number plate lights welded up
Little more filler too
Primed the spoiler and rubbed it back
You can see the bonet in the back round read for primer top and bottom.
Primed the bonnet and in this photo i have rubbed half of it back. It looks good for a fibreglass one apart from the house vents in it.....
More work done on the bonnet all by myself
The under side is rough obviously but the paint is half about
Some stopper in the boot after i welded the holes up for the boot pins. Bonnet drying in the back ground
Not a bad finish out of the 'primer gun' she just needs a good buff to get some of the dust out.
Another picture, just to say if carlsberg done paint jobs it would be as shite as their beer.
Lacquered the inside too today
With the inside all masked off we moved to the outside. The rear panel was fillered up
And was roughed out. More work is needed and maybe another skim of stopper.
So today i was left on my own again...... So i thought i would final up the door and boot lid ready for paint
Full of stopper
Rubbed back with a few more bits put in
Seam sealed the door
I had got this far and thought it is about time i got the primer out.
Boot all knocked back
More stopper in the boot

Nice going for an outside job!
The thing is, are you going to want to give the car so much welly once you've got it all looking nice again?
Thanks for that. It will look decent. And i don't like a mk2 or a 4 door so no matter how nice she looks it will still be abused. I only have the mk2 as a 'cheap' practice car before my mk1 2 door is finished.
If i had paid good money for the paint job i would think again. This is why i would rather paint it myself and learn too.
thats a fantastic finish for an outdoor DIY job, nice work!! love that colour so much, if i ever mash my car il be repairing it that colour.
keep up the good work!
I started today by rubbing down the spoiler
Then the door shuts on the drivers side were finalled for primer
And the drivers sill which has some deep stone damage in two places but i think i will leave that as it is. It is alot of work drilling, slide hammrring, welding and filling just for something that can't be seen that well and willget damaged again
Fill em ya lazy sod lol
Them nice blue mudflaps will protect that area lol
Yep, do it now. I did my sills last month as got to wishing I had straightened them prior to spraying. Satin black now as the stone chip looks like hammerite under silver
Yes, you've got the opportunity to do it now, before paint!
