    Lambda sensor, retro fit

Ive made an exhaulst manifold for my rwd zetec conversion, Im useing the HO escort efi inlet manifold and ecu etc.
Im useing the correct lambda sensor for this set up.
Can any one point me in the right direction on how far the sensor should go into the manifold.
I have a 10mm boss welded on and its more than the tip that goes into the pipe.
I am concerned that I might damage it if its to far in.
    Many thanks Paul.

1/2" or 13mm is reasonable exposure. Not much to cause damage unless its right next to a turbo or
you like throwing valve heads out of the head! They are designed to run at +650 deg C so heat damage
    is a rarity
