    4-age rwd mk1 fiesta

I am at the early stages of a mk1 rwd fiesta project! I picked me up a red top 4age last week, its just the engine with not ancillaries.
I intend on mating it to a type 9 so I have a few questions

what starter is used with 4age to type 9?

What size is the waterpump on a 4age? I need a measurment so i can mark off my position for engine mounts. want at least 3 cylinders behind the front struts.

What do i need to get the engine running on 45's??

    Nice project!

    1. Depends on your bellhousing but if using a RAW one then MK1 MR2 starter.

    2. Not sure what you mean by size of the water pump... how far it sticks out the front of the block?

    3. And finally, with 45's you will need a hyperpak ignition module thingy or a modified pinto dizzy, best you have a look here and decide how you want to do it but essentially it will give you the same ignition setup as a mk1/mk2 escort etc carbs, coil, dizzy. http://www.turbosport.co.uk/showthread.php?t=171297

Also have a look through this thread also: http://www.turbosport.co.uk/showthread.php?t=167124

Couldn't he use the 20v black top throttle bodies with the original 16v ecu? I don't know a great deal about this conversion but i'm sure i read that somewhere.

Yeah it can be done, needs the TPS wiring modified and if it runs a MAP sensor then also plenum to combine the vacuum connections on each ITB to give the correct pressure at the sensor. But the fuelling and timing will be out and the engine will run rather rich. M11rf has this problem and switched from Standard ECU to a TRD adjustable and then to a standalone fuel and ignition piggy backed ecu before the engine would run right. Plus you also have the joys of converting to an injection fuel system, HP fuel pump, routing flow and return lines, possibly a swirl pot...

Haha, dont worry its not that bad

This would only be if you went for 4age 20V itbs (fuel injected) on the 16V instead of carbs and was referring to this car and the issues that occured with running itbs on a stock 16V ecu:

If you stick with carbs you will avoid all of that, much simpler choice

Theres quite a few threads on here now so have a look through all the 4age stuff and if you have more questions just ask
