Door locks on a MK1 escort

I want to replace my door locks on my car and do any fabrication work before it goes to paint.
I have been told that MGB door lock are a very near a repacement fit.
Has anyone done this.
I was certain i found a thread on this some time back, but cannot find it anywhere now.

I remember seeing something on this aswell but cant remember where They are very similar and if iirc they are a little bigger so need the hole filing to accept them

ALL SORTED.....

I used the MGB locks, only £23 for a pair with 2 keys.
The hole does need to be made bigger only by 0.5mm and an extra lug filed out.
Remove the rear actuators and swap. the rear of the barrel is exactly the same.

Works a treat................

Did one door, just need to do the other.

They have been removed again ready for the paintshop...

I know that you can use mk1 MGB door locks as i read a DIY thread on OSF, but do you know if the same results can be had using mk2 MGB door locks?
The MGBhive have ran out of mk1 locks

im after fitting some door locks to my escort doors, if anybody has any pics of how other locks have turned out i'd be keen to see them.
one of my doors has a mk2 door lock fitted so the hole is already a bit larger

I have just bough a set of mgb locks from MOSS. They are smaller then the ones in this post (maybe from later models?) and have long forks that have needed bending to get them to fit. I am still in the process of fitting them. I was trying to do it in a single garage as I couldn't get the car out today and gave up due to lack of time and space. I will have a better go tomorrow and report back but initially they don't look as good!
