Hi All, ive been on this site awhile now but always sat back in the shadows as ive always had cosworths in the past and spent so much time on other forums. Anyway i picked up my new motor a couple of weeks ago, I have been wanting a old skool ford for awhile now but circumstances and other things got in the way. Well not any more I bite the bullet and got myself a mk2 escort B)
The first thing you will notice is the striking paint job and I have to say im not a fan of the colour. I intend to put it all one colour havent quite made my mind up what colour yet but have a few ideas. Brief spec of it, just fully rebuilt 2.0 pinto bored out to 2.1 some cosworth internals, head work ported/polished and some mad unknown cam which makes it run really lumpy but sounds the absolute tits and goes like stink ~-~; 5 speed type 9 box.
Wider capri back axle running 8x15 revos all round but they still dont fill the rear arches which i believe them to be monte alloy rear arches as to me they look wider than tarmac spec. tarmac spec alloy arches up front. With bigger carbs it should sound amazing.
This is all a new learning curve to me all this old skool stuff as all i ever paid attention to in the past was cosworths and what made them tick but im sure ill get up to speed fairly quickly. Its not a minty mint bufty car the guy who built this built it to drive it and when he left out his driveway gate sideways on the test drive i knew this straight away lol..
But the basics are there from what i wanted in a mk2 everything else i do from now will be making it better. Grin factor on the drive home was the best out of all the fords i have bought over the years, just so much fun to drive.. Enough chat heres a few pics
