Where did the decals come from?
Where did the decals come from?
DMB graphics ltd. The kit is prone to bubbles and the material seems prone to scratches, I think a few washes and the kit will be scratched to pieces. We have been in touch with DMB to supply a quote for the decals to be made out of a user freindly wrap material since they already have a good pattern using different material should be easy enough provided they get the Cosmos blue colour correct, wrap is so easy to apply even I could do it apparently... So watch this space.
Hmmm... that's a shame, I was hoping to get the same kit from them in the graphite grey colour. But if it's not great quality then I wouldn't want to spoil the soon-to-be-done new paintwork with it :-(
I'll give you a shout if I can get it in a different material maybe we can get a deal if we both order?

Just seen this in FB... Is it true?
You can buy complete mk3 transit shells so if it's not happening now it won't be long

.... seems to imply that someone is making new mk2 shells!
Getting really close there now! Can't have much left to do on it now I suppose?
Ok thanks..
Bloody hell.
The Dark art of electrickery is almost complete... I know I've been saying that for a while... but IMG_4679.jpgIMG_4680.jpgIMG_4681.jpgIMG_4682.jpgIMG_4683.jpgIMG_4684.jpg
Souriau mil spec connector..... OTT or OCD IMG_4678.jpg
OCD wiring located, Relays located, Heater located and plumbed in... Real Estate is at a premium under the dash but everything looks as though it was meant to be where it was located....IMG_4707.jpgIMG_4709.jpgIMG_4710.jpg
Water pipe run at the rear of the engine as standard but a couple of securing brakes fabricated to hold it in place
IMG_4815.jpg
Space is at a premium oil catch tank attached to the engine by another fabricated bracketIMG_4816.jpg
Souriau Wiring run through the rear firewallIMG_4818.jpgIMG_4821.jpgIMG_4822.jpg
can you spot the carbon fibre dipped Distributor blanking cap..?IMG_4824.jpg
Some lovely neat touches there, Wayne. I especially like the hose clipped to the top of the box - should stop any chance of it rubbing too!
I bet you can't wait to drive it....next year maybe!!
Alright mate...I'm happy with the heater box....small compact..& does the job... It's from http://www.t7design.co.uk
The two best places for aftermarket heating/cooling stuff that I've found are www.T7design.co.uk and NFAuto (now www.carbuildersolutions.com). I've had stuff from both and can't fault them. Carbuildersolutions is a goldmine of useful replacement bits, switches, electrics, seals and various bits that you might use to build a kit car - or repair an old Ford!

IMG_4932.jpgIMG_4933.jpg I opted for the 3.5kw light weight modular heater... Also as Megatron says... Car builders solutions is an excellent company too (free catalogue) full of loads of great solutions to niggling problems..
IMG_4944.jpgIMG_4945.jpgIMG_4946.jpgIMG_4947.jpgIMG_4948.jpgIMG_4949.jpgIMG_4951.jpg
should all be complete for September.... New dash clocks look nice (Smiths flight) retro looking but electronic...
Lovely neat wiring as usual The leather dash pad is a great finishing touch!
These should be the last photos of the the car in bits.... Electrickery is complete apart from hooking up the messing about with the L8 ECU which is a black art so will probably be sent off to MSD for expert assembly of the black box of tricks..IMG_4958.jpgIMG_4959.jpgIMG_4960.jpgIMG_4961 (1).jpgIMG_4962 (1).jpgIMG_4964 (1).jpgIMG_4965 (1).jpgIMG_4965.jpgIMG_4967 (1).jpgIMG_4967.jpg
A bit of bumf... on the mil spec wiring used on my car...
https://www.fclane.com/sites/default...ort%202014.pdf
if the above link doesn't work just go to www.fclane.com and download the catalog titled Souriau motorsport.
They were taken from my phone so I apologise if the quality is crap...
anyway here's a few tasters from the catalogue.IMG_4969.jpgIMG_4970.jpgIMG_4971.jpgIMG_4972.jpgIMG_4973.jpgIMG_4974.jpgIMG_4975.jpgIMG_4976.jpg
Yeah A local rolling road guy came and soldered it all up...
I've got to do the same at some point
Just been on a spending spree on electrical stuff - cabling, bullet connectors, cable sheathing... y'know, exciting stuff like that
