Does this dipping stuff last well with all the heat that's generated? Only ever seen people do wheels and dash bits.

Some strange photos in that last post...!!

Anyway, I figured I should check in here and keep Wayne up to speed with my contributions to his car. So here we have one leather-trimmed dash:

Now my house move's out of the way and I'm back on the case, my parts should be completed very soon!

LOL! I did wonder what that one was about - thought it might have been some inside joke?

Dash looks lovely trimmed in leather - just got myself a flocked dash and parcel shelf from Yukspeed that arrived this week, if I hadn't done that I was seriously considering doing the same; it looks great btw. It's going to be a stunner of a motor.

None taken. I'm definitely not going for stripped out rally car these days either; been there, done that, worn the t-shirt.

I want nice carpets, soundproofing, headliner, plush door cards, comfy tilt-and-recline seats, so what if it's extra weight? Just wind the boost up a bit more LOL!

A little more progress today - the two halves of the steering column shroud are now trimmed in black leather with black topstitching:

Seriously fiddly and very time-consuming little so and so, this was!! But it should finish things off nicely once it's fitted.

So, just as I predicted, the centre console was a complex affair! I've been on with it all night and all day but, finally, it's completed:

The inset panel where the stereo would normally sit took hours and hours! I can't say I'm in a hurry to do another one just yet... but when everything's fitted to the car, it should tie in nicely to the carpet (especially the leather accents on that).

You can see indents in the top part - these are where the switches live. Swan AVO have asked me to leave those covered for the time being as there's a plaque to sit over the top which they need to fit first.

    Thoughts and comments always welcomed.

    Re: R£Storation RS2000

Crikey... you want one that big? I think the original that came with my 4x4 lump was a .63, but it's worthless - the exhaust housing is cracked, the intake section is missing all the bolts and I wouldn't be surprised if I took it apart and the core was knackered. I was advised by two different companies that it was something like a 400bhp unit.

It was a big lump though. What power are you aiming for?
