also managed to get a bar made up for the door mechanism. left it longer so it could be welded to the other piece securely and then bent round so its the correct angle. IMG_2236.JPG.
just trying to keep myself busy doing lots of little important jobs now the cars at paint.

Awesome car bud
Hopefully getting the car back next weekend
sorted the rust out on the inside of my fuel tank as its been sat so long. Took 2 bags of bolts. put them in the tank and gave it a jiggle.escortrust.jpg. Then flushed the tank out with some diesel I had lying around. Its a lot better now but will run it with a couple of inline filters for the first couple of weeks.
Haven't updated in ages. Car has been back a while now. While it was away I stripped and painted the fuel tank also got the flywheel skimmed to remove surface rust
Some pics of the car
Got the flywheel and clutch on and then thrown in the car
Made my own fuel tank and wiper seals also
Seat repaired, just need to get some dye and do the full interior.
Quick pic of the fuse box I decided to use. My solution for the bike fuel pump issue as well. Turned town a piece of stainless to act as a step down from fuel pump to fuel pipe
Finally what I've been working on as my dads doing the wiring. Decided to have a crack at making my own centre consol. For my first attempt at anything like this I think it's turning out pretty dam good too. What are your opinions or this ?
Few more pics to come tomorrow as the engine bay is now completely finished bar a few bits of wiring. Almost time for tirst turn of the key as soon as I find somewhere to rebuild my locks. Also got door cards etc now
ok it's far past tomorrow where are those promised pics m8 lol.

Looking good, I used to bring my parts into my in laws house...moh they loved me 😃😂
Looks very tidy !
Your right rampant racing. I've been slacking haha. I'm in the garage today so I'll get some pics and post them up shortly. Reason it takes me a while is my daily is a mk2 golf which I'm kind of restoring whilst driving so time gets split between the 2. However as the mk2 is my transport to work it takes priority a lot of the time
cracking job, and cracking car
Love the lairy orange paint job! Centre console looks like it's going to fit right in; what are you thinking about mounting in it?
It's got 2 little tabs round the back that screw into the transmission tunnel and 1 at the gear lever side that petrudes approx 1cm that's also going to screw into transfer tunnel. This one will be covered by carpet. The other 2 won't be but won't be noticeable as they only stick out approx 1 cm and will be printed crackle black and secured with black screws
Update. Due to change in jobs and a few other stuff there has been very little work done on the car. However now I'm back on with it I'm hoping to have it sorted in a few weeks so they will be 1 big final update and then some more photos after its been back to the body shop. Sorry for the wait for those who were following this
good to hear
Just gone through the whole thread start to finish, you have more patience than me with the filling for sure but the car is looking fantastic. Look forward to seeing the finished restoration and thread updates
Having trouble getting the brakes bled at the moment so just looking to upgrade to a servo and Tower as I was just using a big mca before, no photos unfortunately. Interior and engine is all in etc, I'll get some photos tonight
IMG_3641.JPGIMG_3642.JPG sorry for the poor quality, roof lining in and all sorted with minimum creases.
IMG_3640.JPGseats not bolted down yet as I dropped a bolt in the seat crossmember and need a magnetic to get it out, you get the idea though. Next is my solution to filling up the gearbox IMG_3639.JPG.
Dash top on and all wired up,not finished tidying it up yet obviously, just need to buy a centre consoleIMG_3643.JPG
Few of the boot with the fuel tank and battery tray and battery inIMG_3644.JPG
IMG_3645.JPG.
Engine bay just about there, upgrading to servo though so think I'll have to move the washer bottle to make room for the towerIMG_3646.JPG
Finally some of the wheel arch gaps, only running 2 leafs on the back with 2" lowering blocks so think I might have to go could version on the front, just gunna let it settle first and then request evaluate the situation. IMG_3647.JPG

Cracking project mate
Doesn't look too far away!
Not far away at all, just need to either buy a servo setup or bias box at classic ford, centre console, gear nob and a few other boys, was hoping to start it this week but my dads nicked my cool and distributor to try find what's up with his pop. Gunna have a go at getting the bolt I dropped out tonight if weather stays good as there's not enough room in the garage to get the door open IMG_3686.JPG. Got the front grill all on and sorted last night tho
That's going to look great when you get it back out of the garage!
Are you putting the F.O.R.D letters back on the bonnet at some point?
It didn't come with any so going to see if I like it without them first
Picked up a few bits at classic ford today. New ht lead since my dad broke mine GetFileAttachment.jpg
New engine hoist brackets GetFileAttachment-1.jpg
Few fuel filters for first start as the inside of the tank was a bit rusty GetFileAttachment-2.jpg
New gear lever boot for my new centre console GetFileAttachment-3.jpg
Dash trim that I've been trying to get hold of for months GetFileAttachment-4.jpg
And finally a new centre console for rs2000 GetFileAttachment-5.jpg
Got the lifting points on as soon as I was home, had to take a notch out of the front one so I could use my coolant pipe securing point still GetFileAttachment-6.jpg
GetFileAttachment-7.jpg
GetFileAttachment-8.jpg
For some reason the dash trim end hole closest to the clocks was about 1" out so I had that sorted in about 15 mins GetFileAttachment-9.jpg
GetFileAttachment-10.jpg
GetFileAttachment-11.jpg
Was checking out some grommets to fill in the holes too GetFileAttachment-19.jpg
GetFileAttachment-17.jpg
Also masked the chrome off ready for paint the centre satin black as the car had no wooden trim in it at all I thought it would look out of place GetFileAttachment-16.jpg
GetFileAttachment-20.jpg
Also forgot to add I bought a servo tower setup etc so if somebody can tell me what parts I need to rebuild it and upgrade to duel circuit that would be good
Got the dash trim painted today in black GetFileAttachment-24.jpg
Also got the tower stripped down and primed, just looking for the rebuild kit at the moment for the servo and a duel circuit master cylinder. GetFileAttachment-12.jpg
GetFileAttachment-28.jpg
