any updates?
Sorry again for the lack of updates but we have been fine tuning everything along with a full rolling road session at Daytuner in Harrogate. All seems good so we will be out testing this coming week and doing a trackday the week after hopefully. That should mean some pictures and a report on whether or not it goes like we expect. Mind you I have driven it round the industrial estate and it is impressive despite it being unbelievably noisey inside.
Are those carbon wrc-style mirrors from a impreza?
Nice build!
The mirrors are just very lightwieght aftermarket items. I can't remeber where I got them from.
Can anyone tell me what the Jaguar paint code is or which year and model this is off?
Had a the pleasure of a small little ride in this at a charity day whilst john was trying to sort sone niggles
Just wow
If you get the pleasure of seeing it in the flesh take your time
All the little details are amazing!

Sorry for the complete lack of updates! This car has somewhat taken a back seat lately...
Following the rolling road session, the car did a couple of test sessions, mostly things were very promising, couple of small handling issues (like the need for an anti-roll bar!) and the exhaust setting fire to the floor/drivers feet aside...
Main issue was some gearshift related gremlins: To the best of my knowledge this is the first time a system quite like this has been used in this way on this type of gearbox, so a lot of the system was "an educated guess" in terms of mechanical and pneumatic setup... It did work very well most the time but it seems the pneumatics need a re-think to get the best out of the system (easy to get a system that 'works' - I.e. Change gear - but to get it working as fast and slick as I want has proved a headache!
Anyway a solution is in sight, just waiting for some pneumatics to arrive then it can all go back together.
Watch this space.
Glad to hear that there's a fix in the pipeline Tom
Oh, and if you ever sell it I want first refusal please!

what an amazing build, congrats
Well it's back together, and so far so good, had it out on a local test track at the weekend and the gear shift gremlins seem to have gone - shifts are now super fast and slick. We're busy making/installing an antiroll bar at the moment - some silly sod (me) mounted the dry sump tank in the way of the original ARB, so it's required some fettling. With this fitted, it's about ready for a proper test
Nice one Tom
Great news Tom
Thanks . Do you know who can narrow my English axle
Many thanks
Try Andy at Arrow Engineering in Derbyshire. Quite a lot of info about him elswhere on Turbosport
Would you recommend day tuner at Harrogate to set my pinto up? Not far from me,
Not sure. You could give Damien a call but he seems to be more into mapping ECUs. If he can't help then go to Bogg Brothers near Malton. They are class with Ford engines, especially if they are on carbs.
I'd say boggs too
Spent all day on my car
Very very reasonable and great guy

Boggy's find my Rallye on bike carbs but was never right ended up taking it to motorscope and they sorted it
I don't know if the Bogg Brother's father David's still Tuning, he was one of the best Carb setting up people in the North of England. Competitors with Cars of all walks of life would travel round trips of over 200 miles to have their Engines set up by him. They would always come back Home with improved Power and Torque and a better Car to drive. All this was long before management and Throttle Bodies, or even bike Carbs for that mater.
Yup still dave
Brilliant man

Will give them a try when mines ready then
Please be patient if I cock this post up but I am hoping this will be a video of the gearchange on our car working properly. It has been a long journey to get the pnuematics and software sorted but I have now driven the car in anger and it is amazing. If this works I will post a video of the car running at Croft.https://www.facebook.com/10000834894
Try again !! https://www.facebook.com/10000834894...9856660635950/[/VIDEO]
And here is a video of the car running at Croft but we have improved the gearchange since this was taken. I just love the engine noise !!https://www.facebook.com/10000834894...0654598889490/
Does either link work please ?? They are direct to Facebook and I can view them so I'm thinking it may be to do with privacy settings in Facebook. Any helpful suggestions please.
Please can someone try the links in my two posts of today to see if I have got them working now.
Yes John they are working a treat , just like the car :-)
All work for me except the first one. Sounds epic
O yes that's nice
Stunning car one of the very best
Sounds like a bag of spanners!
It's a big relief now the shift system is playing ball. What a headache that's been. Although it did 'work' straight out the box, it wasn't quite right. It was quick, way quicker than you could achieve by pulling a lever by hand, but clearly something wasn't right. These Sadev units require a relatively high force to move the linkage, not only that but the force ramps up quickly due to high spring rates in the barrel detent mechanism, and cam design. The fact that the mechanism started moving quickly when you fired the air cylinder, but then rapidly slowed down, was occasionally confusing the electronics.
More force was needed! Fitting a bigger bore cylinder and/or higher operating pressure is easy, but you need to match the solenoid valves to the rest of the system... Finding valves of the right format, quality, flow capacity - importantly - switching speeds was a bit tricky. Most of the paddle shift systems on the market uses solenoid valves which are slow to switch on. Typically 40-50mS. That means when you press the button to demand a shift, nothing happens for the first 40-50mS whilst it waits for the solenoid to turn on the air, then the mechanism starts to move... I want the whole shift to happen in less time than that! Fast switching valves are generally either 24v, or very small (restrictive) or both. Anyway, the valves currently in there have a switching speed of sub 1mS, and although they are theoretically a bit small, the shifts are superb. Quicker than Sadev though possible!
Anti roll bar is fitted, bit of a guess at what rate is required so I've gone with something at the softer end of the scale. Easy to swap for stiffer tube if required.
Not sure what's next actually. Probably time to freeze development and get some use out of it!
Great video of your super slick gear shifts. Awesome sounding little screamer. Any pics of the Anti roll bar ???
Deadly machine
Is that antiroll bar available as a kit?
