As title, how do I smooth seam sealer off while it is wet? I was going to brush it but I've seen that thinners reacts when used, and I don't want to use anything that will react with the paint afterwards.
thanks,
Oliver

You get seam sealer brushes, they are quite coarse.....work reasonably well although I end up using my finger most of the time. I've used Sikaflex on a few occasions too.
immediately its been applied using your finger in a laytex glove, it goes off quite quick so only apply small amounts at a time
I much prefere sikaflex or tiger seal to any brush on seam sealer. Don't use anything else anymore.
You can also use a palette knife/spatula dipped in methylated spirit to smooth any sort of sealant. Just make sure to keep the tools "wet".

Buy one of these and get the factory finish. Ive just bought one there awesome.

Put some turps on your finger and use it to smooth. Works well for sikaflex/urethane.
I do almost exactly what bowlsclubboy says. I use Sikaflex, then with a cotton rag wrapped right to the end of a finger and dipped in white spirit wipe the surface smooth. The shape of the finish takes on the radius of the end of your finger. I've also used plastic spreaders (body filler spreaders) cut to different shapes to change the profile of the sikaflex bead.
And mask either side of the seam for a straight factory look line
Use fast panel wipe in a brake cleaner spray dispencer n a rag wet with panel wipe will give smooth finish
I done my whole car with tigerseal and smoothed it using nitrile gloves dipped in petrol. You can really work it into the seams without it acting like chewing gum any excess cleans off with a rag also in petrol.

Here you go. Have a look at post no 158. I used 7 cartridges to do every seam on the whole shell
That was the wrong page. Try this one

I brush it on and as soon as possible use a brush dipped in thinners and keep brishing it untill it is smooth.
