    Help with type 9 please

Hi all hope someone on here can help I've got a 2 litre type 9 but have noticed it's got a crack in the tail housing. I've got a spare v6 type 9 just want to know would I be able to use the tail housing from the v6 and fit it to the 2 litre? Any help would be great

all I would say is make sure the two gearbox you are using are the same age what mean by that is they a both early boxes or are both late because the selector will not fit what I mean is you will not get a late tail fit a early gearbox because of the selector

So in theory as long as they both look the same? I.e both have bolt on gear lever? Or did they do early and late types of those?

no the early gearbox tail housing has a single rib running lengthways along the tail and the earlier selector shaft is shorter
