Curious about the bodywork, is it just standard filler material and just a quick spray with a matte type paint?

If you're ever been on any bodywork threads or forums people are super particular about everything needing to be butt welded/sprayed with sealer/dust free facility where you can build super computers to paint.. blah blah.

How do the restorations hold up on that side of the world?

Also fantastic build, with the subframe in the front, what was involved with the math for deciding exactly where it should go.. wondering because with my Anglia for example they say you can stick an escort setup in the front but you need to cut the bulkhead to move the motor back.

The body has no filler, it's just primer over the metal. That's why it looks a bit rough. The resto is holding up good, a lot of new metal went into it, so it should take a while for it to rust out again

The front subframe was positioned in the same place as the escort crossmember, but the chassis was widened to accommodate the extra width of the subframe.

I took the van out to a JZ UZ swap meet. It's not been out the garage for over 3 months now...

Here's a video of some of the cars there.

Re: Mk1 Escort Van V Skyline V Supra

After the last trip out to the drag strip there were a few little jobs to do. I didn't close the opening quarter window when i was dong the quarter mile runs and the win must have put too much pressure on the glass and smashed it.

You can see the passenger window in this picture, there is just a bit of glass left near the lock on the window.

So i cut a new piece out of some polycarbonate, it looks just like glass... It just needs fixing in either with some rubber or some silicone.

The bushes in the diff have failed again. This time i bought some aluminium cylinders and had some bushes machined out of them. No rubber = they can't fail again. It seems to be a weak spot on these diffs as this will be the second time i've had to change them.

I've also added some spacers to the bonnet hinges to lift the bonnet at the rear, i've not had any problems up to present with the temperature, but when i was on the way to the quarter mile, it's all motorway, and any prolonged driving over 60mph would see the water temp rising and rising, so hopefully this will help to get rid of some of the heat.

Gymkhana coming up again this weekend
