Vans are the new must have
Looks like a hearse or ambulance
I don't remember vans having panes of glass on the sides

Surely you must own or at least know of all the small fords in Thailand by now???
Where do you keep finding them?
Service van sounds great, with modern driveline
Tell us what you have in mind, you haven't dissapointed so far!
Shaun
I was sitting eating some food in a Japanse buffet place and some guy called me up and asked me if i wanted to buy it... 3 hours later i was looking at it and arranged to go back and collect it the next day. Job done
Plans were to just get it running and driving correctly at this moment in time. The engine keeps cutting out, new plugs, filters etc, the fuel lines are all cracked, the front end needs new bushes and steering rack re-conning... Just make it a driver.
I would like to eventually take the windows out of the rear and put steel back in...
At the moment i don't have anywhere decent (safe) to park it, so i don't want to go re-painting it and putting wheels on it.
good to see m8.
lucky fine.
will watch ur progress
I have an Anglia van myself but strangely I prefer the lines of the MK1 Escort van. But then again I much I prefer the Anglia saloon to the MK1 Escort saloon. Am I wierd?
My van had windows installed back in 1970 and the owner had to change the taxation class. I know this as I still have the original green log book. I don't like the windows look so I had the windows sign written with printed vinyl.
However my windows are full length one piece affairs whereas yours are split.
Having windows does make it slightly easier to drive though. I need to remember to reverse into every parking space or else getting back out is a lottery.
We might be seeing some progress on this soon... It's been parked up since i bought it, i've not touched it.
Plans involve a Nissan Silvia S14 front and rear subframe and a windmill engine. (probably SR20DET)
Unsure how it will all work yet and how wide the arches are going to have to be... Still in the planning stage.
Drifty Bus here we come (hopefully)
That looks to be a great project.
What engine is in it at the mo,and christ that battery!!!!!!
Where were they imported from uk or oz or nz????
Hmmmmm, this is going to be good.....
Shaun

At last
Looking forward to the progress
Woo hoo... Cant wait...
I like the way they tackle things over there.
We've seen the under pinnings, what do you have planned for the outside?
Shaun
Is that front guard carved out of filler?
Shaun
The whole van is full of filler... Almost all the old cars are here.
I'm looking at some 17" Rotas and some mad arches to cover them up, that's about it. A chin spoiler, holes in the front valance and a vent/some vents in the bonnet will be needed too.
I think even "full of filler" is an understatement! That would be seriously demoralising, fair play to you
Nice choice on the wheels! Wider than mine by an inch....
Lots and lots of rust. I presume the guys are going to hand form the replacement panels and sections?
Shaun
I've got a pair of secondhand wings for it. The rest will be hand made yeah. Not really looking for originality with all the underbody stuff, looking for strength.
Strength is good!
Is the escort behind it yours too?
Shaun
Nah, it's not mine. Someone else has seen the quality of the work on my white car and has brought it to be done.
This is going to be great when done, what are the front struts off??
Front struts are Nissan Silvia S14...
Cefiro Skyline S chassis all the same
Great project I think its great the way they make the hand made panels/make modifications that pic with the guy sat gas torch in hand and panel draped across his lap class Keep the updates coming
When I grow up I will have a MK1 Escort
I must be all growed up now then and paying for it!
Keep the pics coming.
Combining two of favourite cars.....
Definately getting the inspirational juices flowing.
Shaun
Front and rear Nissan cross members are going on this van. The struts may fit the standard hole but the camber will be mega, so the hole is being moved out as close to the wing as possible.
Probably need to adjustable TCA's to get the camber right
R154 Supra Transmission.
