Engine sump hitting steering rack
Ive got a 1600 xflow with a 5 speed type 9...my problem is that the sump is hitting the steering rack mount causing vibration....ive tried jacking the engine up a bit but that doesnt seem to work....im currently using 1 inch box section under the gearbox mount and im wondering if this is causing the problem by lifting the rear of the engine ..anyone had this problem and do i actually need the box section? Is it possible to cut a bit off the sterring rack mount?

Lowering box mount an inch is normal but if yours will go up then do so. Maybe you have a different mount.
Look at sump from front and you will probably see it to one side. Fit spacer plates to block / mount to get it over / up till it clears.

Either make plates with 4 holes or 4 thick (like 5mm) washers between mount and block.
Also cut a plate matches rubber mount shape, drill 10mm and place on that end. Cutting a slot to the hole means you can slip in to try.
