Series 1 maybe on the bonfire tomorrow

My Series 1 keeps dying for no apparent reason.
It did it first while driving along, it "held back" for a second then just died . It started again ok but a couple of miles later did the same thing again, but didnt want to start again
Today it died while it was just sat there idleing, nothing dramatic at all it just died.

If anyone has any ideas what may be causing it id be grateful.

    Thx

This sounds similar to a problem I had with the fuelling relay/ecu...a silver relay under the dash on the drivers side can go pear shaped...as well as a purple relay.

Also, check the relay in the engine bay mounted on the scuttle panel.

Think i have a result (thx jeff + others)

I removed the silver relay from under the dash.
The 5 contacts at one end were fine but the single one at the other end of the relay was a bit "wobbly".

So, i dismantled it, everything looked fine apart from the offending contact. Both of the solder joints where the "pins" solder it to the circuit board have broke, so hopefully just a resolder will solve the problem.

Does the lack of info mean that you've fixed it ?
