Mk2 Escort Alloy tank set up

    Hey folks

Im starting to put my fuel tank and boot set up together and just wondered if some of you kind people could post some pictures up of how yours is set up?

Ive got a large typical curved tank and I'm running a Pinto on 45 carbs. Do i need a fuel pump and filter? and also can i buy a kit somewhere for the braided hose set up and connections and things like that? Also,
if i have a pump and filter in the boot, do i also need one under the bonnet? Sorry I know these are probable really retarded questions but I've got to learn somewhere!

    Cheers chaps

Most of the fittings you need are an-6 Iam in the process of doing mine so have the full list of gear you need to convert both your fuel pressure regulator and facet to an-6 then it's up to you what bulkhead fittings you want to go through the firewall and bulkhead to engine bay. Does your tank have threaded bosses welded on?

Hi, for a straight pipe you can use something like an olive washer - look on torquesuk and yourll see what I mean.

    Cheers guys

Have you just got the top pipe blocked off there?

So is that tank - pump - filter/regulator - engine?

    Cheers

Almost.........its Tank - course filter - pump - fine Filter King Filter - integral regulator - engine.

Some would put the regulator closer to the carbs as friction will lower the pressure over the car length run.

The blanked off inlet would normally be a second pump feed. Normally top feed would be pump 1 and then pump 2 would be like a reserve. Injection would have a swirl pot either fitted to bottom of tank or a separate external swirl pot. Your fuel return line would connect direct to swirl tank or pot to ensure you always have fuel for the pump to feed from
