    duratec crank pulley tightening

Hi everyone, is it possible to tighten the crank pulley using the tool that holds the crank at top dead centre? I think the pulley holding tool is a bit expensive for a one time use, and hope the peg is strong enough.

Nope, would not consider that at all
An option is to jam the flat end of a large crowbar on to the flywheel ring-gear, locking it against the top of the starter motor hole in the bellhousing, done that may times without damage.
I made up a lock for the flywheel where the starter motor go's, using some scrap metal and a mig welder, located in position by the starter mounting bolts. It fits even with gearbox in car
