Any further with the XE plates? Dying to get the car finished
That's the one! Have you got a lot interested in the XE plates?
Not really a few of my friends want them that's the reason why i am doing them really. Lol. There is a load of interest in the 2.8/2.9 v6 ones though and few for the essex engines (does anyone know if the essex are the same as the 2.8i engines pattern wise?) The thing is though the drawings and test plates are expensive so i can't go knocking out one for every engine type on a whim that they will sell. Like i say i have only sold mine as i had it and could help people do the conversion too. I made 21 in the end and i still have 3 left. They haven't sold in the numbers i would have liked them too really but there was no money lost and a little bit gained so 21 people are now a step closer to having a stronger gearbox in their cars.
essex and colonge v6 have different bellhousing bolt patterns
I think once people have used them for a while and realise they are pretty good there will be more of a demand. As long as the common engine conversions are covered I.e XE, duratec, zetec, cossie, s2000 etc.
I cannot go any further on my project really without one apart from a bit of rear end bodywork. So far I have waited almost 3 months due to p9yco, to be honest I do not fancy waiting more than an other month or so if possible i want to get the car on the road as soon as possible. If i knew one was coming i could mock things up using wood as a spacer for mounts to see me longer. I have posted links to the new post i started about interest on a lot of other sites and just hope something comes of it. If not I always have other options such as the type 9 so the plate is not threatening the project or anything like that.
Freddy686868 - I need an adapter plate to fit the xe at 0 degrees.
I was going to order one off p9yco but seeing as a lot of people have had massive waiting times, im hoping you might have one soon so I can get the engine and gearbox in my next project.
How long do you think it will take?
And does anyone know how to lengthen the input shaft on the rx8 box as it doesn't look long enough to fit into the crank with an adapter plate fitted.
Cheers
mine will be ready in roughly a month (it is a while but it will be worth it) i have had 6 people who have already got the psycho plate and they are now buying mine aswell and selling the other plate on and because of the way i designed my adapter plate you don't need to lengthen the input shaft ;D
Looking for an Adaptor Plate, RX8 to Zetec. do you have any left?
Can you pm or send some contact details please freddy, I'm interested in a yb-rx8 adapter plate, but can't pm you because of low post count
Has anyone mated one of these 231 RX8 boxes up to a 200 block YB Cossie yet?
If so How much work was involved? What parts were required to make it fit and where did you manage to source the parts from?
who does the adaptor plates? Anything else required for it to fit?
I was selling them on ebay and to friends. I am getting more made now.
