Yes mate it's all same as type9 so basically a straight swop ... The only thing that's different is your gearbox mounting and its electronic speedo ...
I know this is very hard to beleave but I've sold lots of these now and it's a bolt on conversion with lots of positive comments how good this is against type9 , and so cheap .. P9cyo

Yes mate I'm sure the main shafts are the same as ,ie 2.0 / 1" 23 spline .. I've put a 24v v6 cosworth in a rx8 .. Just makes them a proper toy and you now it's going to start , but if you was doing the conversion at £50 I'd bang a 6spd in it well doing it .. If your on the rx8 forum could you put a thread on there to with my details please , p9cyo,

So with the zetec, what clutch is needed? What release bearing? Does any of the above need spacing to match the gearbox spacer?

Bought a 6 speeder off my mate for £80, had to pay a bit more as i will be getting him to help with conversion.
Is the rx8 prop the same between 5 & 6 speeds?
Also got an rx7 lsd to go in the mix.

Not sure on 5 -6 but would say there same ,I only use the 6spd kit ..some rx7 diffs are changeable all rx8 231bhp 6 spd came with lsd ...p9cyo,

before and after 2004 --------- anyone know the differences and if it matters to us ?
Hi mate I have 6 gearboxes here and there all the same , but never asked what years they were out of , best way to check before you buy is take your 2.0 clutch , 23 spline .. Or count the splines if your buying on line ... But I'd say there all the same .. I think in all mine i have before and after 2004 ...

All gearboxes here in Norway seems worn out if any has one for sale.
And with my planned 250hp 2.9 12v in my Capri, the T9 won't last long at all...
Any idea of cost if you post it?
Postal service is in most cases cheaper than currier prices for me....
Btw: RX8 gearboxes has silly prices here in Norway and are rare, hence price of 750 quid or more..

Slave cylinder is just the rx8 one standard ,
And for the plate conversion kit the v6 is totally different to vauxhall redtop and the zetec / pinto / x flow one ,,

I think you would have to convert to hydraulic clutch to run that box In an escort Shame the clutch arm Is In that position Is It possible to move the clutch arm to the right hand side like on a type 9 (cut hole In b/h?) I cant see how you could get a clutch cable to that position unless you know of a longer cable to get around to there?
hi there my cable mount is a rear side mount to use the clutch arm were is ,
you just need to get longer cable to go under tunnel and loop back it's the only way to do it that keeps it simple , like my plates just enough and not over engineered . And it all works just bolts on .. Should have pics up tommorrow of v6 cossie with cable clutch mount ,, bolts on bolts already around the gearbox.. ... P9cyo

Looking in to doing this hopefully going to pic a gearbox Up this weekend , has anyone on hear done this conversion yet and how have you found it , how much further back will the gearstick sit in comparison to a type 9 and do these boxes have quite a short shift or not , I'm guessing there a lot nicer and smoother than a type 9 and how have people found the gearing , could anyone post me a link up so I can work out the gearing with my tyre / diff combo . 175 50 13 with a English 3.54 diff as it it with what ever gearing is in my box it's got a good long first so how do they compare .

The 6 speeder had everything. The original annoying low first gear. The 2nd gear to 5th gear is very simular to the tran x gear kit and the 6th gear is the same as the original ford type 9 5th gear.

Hi mate I'm in winsford so not far away from you .. Your stick is more or less in the same place .. But your mount is not . If you look back in the thread I have put pics up of them side by side stood up etc etc ,, the main gain with this 6spd box is mainly the reliability and strength then the price , gearing quickshift nice smooth gearbox , and that is all the same clutch and prop so no expense there hydrolic clutch but I can do you a cable set up .. So the main things you need to sort is gearbox mount , and electronic speedo .. Other than that it's tons better than the weak crap type9 box .. But you could use
