    BD10 Cams

I want to reprofile my original cams of my cosworth to BD10 cams. I need all the information like duration, lift... can someone give me this please?
All info on cams who I can use with pistons without valves cut outs is also usefull.

    Thanx
    Bart

    Re: BD10 Cams

Looking at the Burton Catalogue, their BD10 profiles are:
    Valve lift: 8.7mm,
    Valve timing for both inlet + exhaust:VO 68 / VC 70,
    Duration: 263 degrees.

Would be alot easier to give them your old cams in exchange for a pair of BD10's though, £76.59 ex VAT each!

    Wes
    Thanx for the information.
It would be easier if I would live in the UK but I live in Belgium so it is a little bit to far for just exchanging my cams.

    Regards
    Bart

Bart, i'm sure it isn't that much to send them via Fedral Express or DHL , but if you know a local company that can reprofile them for you then fair enough m8!

If you need to you can contact Burton on +44-20-8554-2281, or e-mail info@burtonpower.com or their web site is www.burtonpower.com

    Re: BD10 Cams

How much difference do BD10 cams make? My friends at Cosworth said the BD10 was the original cam for the engine, they took it out whilst de-tuning the car for road use.

    Cheers

    Re: BD10 Cams

Not much difference at all, the thing is people say they make a lot of difference because when they fit them they generally fit a set of verniers as well to time them up right, BUT if you fit a set of verniers and time up the standard cams to 110degrees you will notice a difference also.

Clint, are you saying that a set of veriniers set at 110 would give you more BHP on a standard car? if so how much?

    Re: BD10 Cams

The only problem is I use pistons without valve pockets so BD10 is the only cam that will work with these pistons.

Let me put it this way recently I have tuned Slims Orion on the Rollers 4 degrees on the cam gave 10HP and thats on a 150HP motor !!!!! your guess is as good as mine, it also depends on how far they are out in the first place.

Did you know Quaiffe Cam Pullies are only £34 each !!!!!!!!!

    Re: BD10 Cams

I run BD10s at 114deg in my Cos and that will make over 500bhp.
The main difference with BD10s over standard is the car revs much better and makes more power at high rpm. Mine makes maximum power at 7250rpm.
