    blue Rs

And finally I have found out ( been shown ) how to re size pictures so I can start to show some progress of my mk1. I brought my first Rs 2000 in April 1989 my first car when I passed my test then in November 1989 I brought my second Rs 2000 a complete basket case which I collected on a trailer and placed in a garage not to see the light of day until the garage was broken into and the blue Rs was stripped to the back axel I moved house six years ago and the blue Rs came to the garage covered in stuff and there I stayed until January 2013 when my other yellow Rs came home from being stored at a friends garage to be finished being put back together as I had finished the work on the house the yellow Rs was MOT'd in August 2013 although not mint but in a very usable condition so after watching other threads I decided it was time to start the blue Rs so here goes...... tn_IMG_0461.JPG tn_IMG_0466.JPG tn_IMG_0483.JPGtn_IMG_0487.JPGtn_IMG_0482.JPGtn_IMG_0492.JPGtn_IMG_0468.JPGtn_IMG_0476.JPGtn_IMG_0473.JPGtn_IMG_0465.JPGtn_IMG_0508.JPG tn_IMG_0463.JPG so I will ad more pics tomorrow as its a slow process and I am not the best technical computer whizz but I have to up load from my phone more pics

well started to cut and weld a few weeks ago and made a start with the passenger side floor as the mid section chaise rail had rotted through at the front and rear joints.tn_IMG_05861.JPGtn_IMG_05871.JPGtn_IMG_05881.JPG

tn_IMG_05961.JPGtn_IMG_05971.JPGtn_IMG_05991.JPG as you can see I had to remove what was left of the rear chaise skid as most of it had rotted away and the anti tramp bracket

sorted out the rear spring hangers and mid chassis rails had to fit new rear skid and anti tramp brackets as they had rotted through the rear skids and the chassis around the tramp bars was toast

Bit of a temporary timber frame in front of the garage to give me some more room to work and keep the weather off me and the car at the same time not sure what the neighbour's think also stops people walking past and being nosey as to what's in the garage

    Re: blue Rs

to be honest when I started it did not seem so bad floors chassis mid section d panels and round the heater bit in the back panel and wheel arches inner wings and front box section once you start pulling them apart man there seems to be rot every where not as bad as some guys are or have tackled on here but enough to make you wonder if your ever going to finish what seems to start out as a small job soon turns out to be more of an epic task

    Re: blue Rs

well finally got the floor in and the new outer sills but just for reference if its a complete floor pan withal the bits on like the under floor closing panels ect then I does not fit through the front or rear screen openings had to fit it from underneath through the chaise rails with a bit of fiddling but got there in the end

    tn_IMG_0809.JPG

    tn_IMG_0821.JPG

then fitted the new outer sills which took some faffing to get right and gapped
