Type 9 Gearbox question

Hi guys not sure if anyone will be able to help... But looking at dropping a Mazda Mx5 1800cc N/A b6 Engine into my mk2 estate.

Basically want to find out if i can match this gearbox and motor up?

Will the gearbox ratios be right for this engine? think its factory power out puts around 130hp-140hp

Has anyone done this conversion before and did you use a type gearbox or better off using the mazda 5 speed as these cars come RWD..

Use the mazda 5/6speed that the mx5 came with and then just has a custon prop made it will be cheaper than the type9 route.
