    Favourite books

Now Christmas is coming up I thought it might be nice to for us to reccomend some books, so at least we'll get something rather than aftershave and socks.

I will start off with Driving Ambition by Doug Nye which as you can see is the story of the McLaren F1.

I see it's 50 which is a bit steep (the cover price on my copy was 30) but if you only have one book on the F1 this has to be it.

Hope you all get nice stuff at Christmas.

Another one to look out for, although it is out of stock with Amazon at the moment is this weighty (600 page) book from Reinhard Klein the famous rally photographer.

It covers all the Works rally cars of the modern era (and I mean ALL) from the 1950's right up to the current WRC cars. It also has personal stories from the people involved with them at the time and several "my favourite rally cars" sections, some of which you might find surprising.

The pictures are mostly from Kleins archive and are excellent throughout. There are lots of technical articles and a very good introduction section covering all aspects of modern rally car design

Written by David Williams, Jonh Davenport and Colin McMaster it is highly recommended

Klein is also responsible for this group of lucky beggars Slowly Sideways

    it cracks me up everytime.
