Projects
2003 is here and I have decided that my own projects are going to get all my attention until they are finished.
I want my Anglia done in April and my Escort in August.
What are you all up to and when do you expect to finish ?

Re: Projects
Well I'll be giving it hell to finsh up my xr4ti by fall of this year.
I ran out of warm weather so I did'nt spray it in 2002.
Still have not decided as of yet if I'm going ta build a copy of Joe Morgans 900hp 2.3 and just tune down for the street or if
I'm going to bite the bullet and spend alot of freak'n money and ship over the stuff to build a Cossie.
I have plans to sell of my mustang and a 300z turbo project that is of yet unstarted so that I can bring a 3dr. basket case state side. I fig. that most of the little none engine related stuff I have in mass any way since they evolved from the xr4ti instead of the xr4i! I've spent alot of time checking into bringing one over. Talk about alot shit to go through!

Re: Projects
Well I will be moving to yet another even bigger workshop in a couple of weeks, as I am now doing this full time,
I will be painting and organising the place, putting in a spray booth area, and a blast room, then after that I will be working on the following projects of my own:
Mk2 Escort Harrier rebuild, will be sold when done though.
Mk2 RS2000 rebuild to concours spec, will probably be sold when done.
I am going to strip and clean my MK1 RS2000 again and do some more minor detailing, to make it one of the worlds best again, If I have time I might try for the Gold Cup, if not I may sell it if I could find a very good home.
I want to build myself a new MK1 to use as a toy, and for some trackdays etc..more on that as it happens.
I may rebuild my Mini
And hopefully lots of other projects for other people that are in the pipeline if they happen.
Jeeez I am gonna be busy

Re: Projects
well the mk1 is having a makeover and should be finshed by end of feb. Decent short block to match the bv head i have with the throttle bodies and ecu under me bed. Nice alloy tank and swirl pot. That will do then nearly everything done on it. Then i have got my garage to build (nice 20x23 foot)and the drive to do at the same time. Then its the bettle sitting round my mates. Needs a door skin, door post repairing and one heater channel. Couple of other odds and sods. Gonna be matt black and gnarly. Got a rebuilt 1800 van lump in the back on twin webbers and five stud prochse rims with a disc brake conversion up fornt. Oh and its well low.
Bikes well, have to rebuild the kat, not sure if leave it standard or fighter, or even just mild fighter (which i have the bits for). Need to fit new tyres, brake shoes and get an exhaust made for my Yamaha Maximx x cruiser. Got to sort the clocks and a few little bits on the blade as well.
Then i need to make a start on the house although this will probably get priorty over everything except the garage and MK1
Think i will be busy and all.
Clint no mention of the three door.

Re: Projects
Hope to finish the rally car about April time. The shell is about finished strengthening wise now. Just got to put the wings and front panel/slam panel on and some odd bits and bobs then she's ready for paint.
In a moment of madness I have gone and sold my Mk1 1300 Sport. Some of the money I got bought a brand new LSD and 5 speed s/c gearkit though
Cheers

Re: Projects
Marshall, its probably best to supply a kit, that way you can build it and learn how it goes together, I would say its less technical that putting together than a Pinto because you dont need to worry about the valve train geometry !
You will need a belhousing and you will need to find a clutch plate also as the american T5 has a different spline to our T5.
Crossmembers will surley be the same ?
take a pic of you rad and intercooler and Ill see if it will fit without too much murdering

Re: Projects
hopefully be starting on the estate in the next month, probably wait until i am back from my hols, also having boubts about the zvh, its seeming like a bit too much work for my inexperienced hands, may just stick with the 1600 and get some major head work done. Hey clint, how much do you reckon for throttle bodies and management on my cvh, is it possible ???, and i hope i might be ready for summer time, not doing a full resto, just get the engine, paint, interior and stereo sorted
