Looking good, glad to see you have got on it again! I have done nothing for weeks on mine, can't see anything getting done on the next couple of weeks either!
Thanks. It s in a prime spot in the workshop and I'm determined to have the shell finished with cage, axle and tunel all sorted and get it in epoxy before the winter.
awesome work
just read through this thread, omg 6 days
Thanks for the comments still going but a slower pace in between jobs in the workshop.
If anyone is interested we have another 2 2door car's that we will build next year but these will be for sale but can be done to any spec or just rolling shell.
PM me if your seriously interested.

All I have to do now is win the lottery 😳
alot of clever and talented people on here, love reading/looking at build threads/ pics
very nice job, congratulation
Do you need a job ?
Not much of an update Panard rod and tramp bars done, compression strut brackets welded on I also made a gearbox mount up with weld on brackets for the shell (forgot a picture) and added some 2mm strengthener plates to the tunnel for extra strength so them brackets can't pull out.
Measuring compression strut bracket position
Looking good mate thats nice bit of welding like the way the welds have gone In good luck with the rest of the build
Lovely work and loved reading this thread keep the updates coming
Thanks for the comments I'll get a bit more done Mon/Tue this week but I'm off to Poland building Hot Rods so away for a week but the lads are going to get my workshop floor re-painted whilst I'm away (another job that I never have time for)
have a nice time
Hi are those floor pans mig welded or tig welded or somthing? If mig what size welder do you use what settings etc any tips on how to acheive welds like that. Mega build by the way.
No updates I'm In Poland collecting Escorts 4 in total

they cheaper and less rusty from over there?
more threads
Not much of an update an old Quad bike knee injury has been playing up so been on light duties
So blasted up some suspension parts and got them in epoxy primer powder coat.
I also done my mates Lotus Cortina wheels for his MK1 Cortina again just powder coated in the epoxy primer colour will get done later in the week.
Hopefully I can back on the heavy duty work again next week.
whats the motors like ya bought.
taxed worse , don't look too bad
that front crossmember im sure i have seen them before, where are they from, what they like and how much lol, i have a rally design one and it makes my cossie engine sit 5mm over to the n/s from front to back and the mounts for the steering rack are not straight on it!!
The crossmember is from Alachai57 fits well however welds arnt tidy so I'm going to redo them with tig before I powder coat it. There about £115 with the mounts.
So been very busy unfortunately not on this build...
However I've modified the bulkhead but wanted it to look original after mocking up the engine I wasn't happy with the clearance when removing the rocker cover so a new panel was made and the bulkhead tweaked a little.
I've never been a fan of the plastic brake resivior bottles I think they look terrible on an otherwise we'll finished car so ordered these lovely brake/clutch reservoir and matching catch tank
My next jobs are to fill in all the holes in the bulkhead I don't want to use and get the roll cage in followed by the EPS column which I'm going to mount off the cage.
I had a rear safety devices cage so bent up the front cage
I have been getting organised still a few parts to buy but the mountain of new parts is growing.
The intention is to dry build the car before paint to ensure everything fits as it should and all holes etc are done pre-paint just leaving assembly once painted.

Where's the reservoir from sir???
Nice work as usual! What EPS kit are you using or are you using a corsa one and modifying it for fit yourself?
Thanks notice you've been doing a bit on yours
Yep Corsa B column and ECU but I will use the top and bottom from the Escort column to retain original switches etc.
I'm also fitting a variable controller so the amount of assistance can be adjusted or turned off completely
Yeah been getting there slowly! Feels a bit more like I'm on the down hill slope now though....probably won't feel so enthusiastic after I have built it, stripped it, painted it and built it again though haha. Im going for corsa B stuff too, not decided on the best way to mount it yet though
I'm fitting a cross bar under the dash as part of the cage between the fron legs so I'm going to fabricate mounts for the column on there
Not much to report butmI had an easy day today so thought I'd get on with powder coating a few parts
looking better by the day
