    RST Overheating

Since fitting a GRS cooler I have had problems with overheating everytime I have tested the car, eventually I used two fans strapped to the front of the cooler running permanently, she still overheats it just takes longer!!!

Is it my headgasket or an airlock, by the way when I take the lid off the heaser tank there is no pressure!!!!

I've heard this is the problem with the GRS cooler, the fans should also be in between the cooler and rad.

With the instructions you get with the kit, Kenlowe recommend the fan is on the outside, they are put inbetween so that the cooler is more efficient.

I am more worried about that there is no pressure when you take the header tank lid off.

Just after the cooling fan has cut out, you should get little or no pressure. The fan is cooling the coolant down, and reducing the pressure..
How do you know your car is overheating, are you going by the temp guage???? You could have a faulty temp sensor(or wrong coloured one fitted),faulty cooling fan sensor, or a sticking thermostat. The best way to check your temp is with an aux temp sensor. Your cooling fan should cut in round about 85 degree c,
Did you have your head skimmed if youve done your head gaskett, did ya use new stretch bolts?,have you got your timing cock on?,What sort of plugs are you running????
Just a few pointers for ya m8.Are you loosing water internally/externally??
Failing that, you can get a cylinderhead leak test done by a decent garage. They put a tester into header tank to check for combustion gasses....
Keep smiling, n let us know how ya get on....Hope this helps...

Yeah the h/g was cooked, running two fans now infront of the cooler, and all is fine.

Its only a prob when the intercooler blocks the whole of the rad, like it does on the RST
