Hi guys, please assist me with my conversion queries for the above??

Im intending on putting a new gearbox into my escort mk3.I want to purchase a ka 1.3 gearbox as they are easy to come by.

Now tell me, the guy from whom I am getting the gearbox from asked me if its from a Ka with the endura engine.So I am like Yes it is.

However I have come to understand that the Ka came out with a Endura AND Duratec engine.

What I would like to know is if the Ka 1.3 gearbox from the endura and Duratec are exactly the same in terms of ratios??

ok, 2nd question.Im trying to avoid cutting the sump so will fitting the above gearbox stop me from cutting the sump?(I have the std 2litre blacktop sump on on the engine)

I know that this gearbox is a rear starter so that part of the sump will not need modifying however I am concerned about the drive shafts clearing the sump??

Also, is this gearbox hydraulic?
